"My visit to A&E..."

About: King George Hospital

Anything else?

I had to visit A & E on Friday 8th November 2013 the treatment that I received was excellent, a lovely porter came to my rescue as he see me struggling to walk from the A&E to the X-Ray department, he went off and found a wheelchair and took me to X-Ray. When I returned to A&E the Doctor looked at my reports and told me that I needed a Cricket Splint for my injured knee, but 2 nurses went off in search of this item but there was not one in the Hospital. The Doctor did apologise and asked the nurse to bandage my knee to give some support to my knee which I was unable to bend, was extremely painful and I could hardly put any weight on it. I was sent on my way to return on another day for a check up in the trauma clinic at the fracture clinic on Wednesday 13thNovember 2013, hopefully all the equipment that I might need will be there!!!

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your positive experience. I’m really pleased to hear that the service you received at our A&E and X-ray department was excellent. Our porters are a true asset to our hospitals. I apologise that a cricket splint was not available at the time, but I do hope the bandage proved to be effective. Yours sincerely, Dr Stephen Burgess Acting Medical Director
