"Review if midwifery led unit"

About: Leighton Hospital

Anything else?

I delivered our second child at Leighton on the 17th of October 2013. We received excellent care, the unit is brand new and the facilities used were immaculate. The unit appeared well staffed and our midwife was with us throughout which was very reassuring. I would highly recommend delivering at the unit as the care and treatment received was exceptional. During my pregnancy we also used the triage unit which again was a pleasant experience during a worrying time. I was seen and assessed quickly by the assessing midwife. Care was streamlined and I was discharged later that day back to he community team. Communication was made with the community team by the unit and my continuing care was seamless.

Thank you so much for your positive comments. I will be pleased to pass these onto the staff. We are proud of our new unit and are delighted to hear that you had a good experience. Denise Horne, Labour ward manager
