"Cured skin condition"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I'd had horrible itchy often bleeding rashes on the side of my lower legs for about 5 years, they were driving me mad, I stopped wearing shorts and even going swimming because it looked so bad.

I'd been to different doctors and even a 'specialist' at another Glasgow hospital and no one had presented a reasonable solution or useful advise. Then my GP referred me to the the Royal Infirmary and it seems miracles do happen!

I don't know the name of the doctor because it wasn't the doctor on my appointment letter. Clearly I was the last appointment of the day and this older gentleman saw me, I got the sense he was the 'boss'. Anyway, he clearly knew his stuff, he used a phrase no one else had used, he talked about 'breaking the itch / scratch cycle' and prescribed some creams I hadn't used before, including a course of antibiotics to take down the inflammation.

Anyway, six weeks later the rash had completely gone and hasn't reoccurred. I wish I knew the fella's name so I could thank him, he was a mature possibly Irish man.
