Anything else?
I cannot praise the staff enough for the care I received during what has to be one of the worst medical procedures I have ever undergone. I was taken good care of, with nothing too much trouble for the nurses and doctors looking after me - right down to phoning my husband when I requested that they did, the lovely cup of tea and biscuits at the end of the day visit and also taking time to talk to my 17 month old baby (as well as finding her a biscuit too). During my time in recovery I also had time to observe them caring for others, the elderly patients were treated with care and compassion and even the very rude patient in the unit received the same level of patient and gentle care. I also must mention the gentleman who escorted me to xray and the radiologist who took my xray, both polite, caring and thoroughly professional. For me it is the care, compassion and professionalism displayed by the staff that is the most important part of any hospital or NHS encounter, but I feel that the quality and environment in the the endoscopy unit also deserve a mention. The unit is approx 4 years old but still looks as fresh as the day it opened. Nice, bright, clean and modern facility - it makes a huge difference to a patien'ts experience and confidence level in relation to the treatment they receive. Facilities that are well cared for helps to reassure patients that attention to detail is a priority that will hopefully extend to the level of care they receive. Thank you and well done MK General - you are a credit to the NHS!
