About: The Royal London Hospital

Anything else?

A member of my family was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London earlier this year in critical condition following a terrible accident, without the efforts of the airborne medics she would not have made it to Whitechapel were a team led by ex-Army surgeons returned from postings in Afghanistan not only saved her life but made sure that she will suffer minimal consequences in the future. The resources mobilised and the care and expertise shown that day were quite remarkable, it is so heartening to know that when the worst happens if you are fortunate enough to live in North East London there are really fine people there ready, willing and able to help. The Hospital which is newly opened is very impressive and fitted out to a very high standard, it is spacious and well equipped. The doctors were very good at finding time to discuss with the family the on-going care needed during a stay of several weeks. We felt supported and confident that the best possible package of care was being delivered which it was. I was an Olympic Gamesmaker in the Summer of 2012 and as such had an opportunity to see a dress rehearsal of the opening ceremony where Danny Boyle presented a massive homage to the National Health Service, he obviously felt passionately about the NHS, I can see why!
