I was taken to the A&E unit at Darent Valley on Sunday evening following a severe asthma attack. At all stages of my stay \and by all staff members I was seen by (reception, nurses, x ray staff, porters, doctors) I was treated with the utmost courtesy and respect. Every stage in the procedure was explained in a clear manner to me from my initial consultation to my discharge from the short stay ward with my medication. At all times the staff I saw did their utmost to put me at ease during what was a distressing experience. It has been a many years since I have had to visit an A&E unit for treatment, and in a time of an almost constant stream of NHS bashing stories in the media I just wanted to say what a positive experience I had.
