"I was admitted to Hexham Hospital ..."

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted to Hexham Hospital and then transferred to North Tyneside General. My condition was extremely serious and by the second day I had an emergency operation. I was kept anaesthetised for 12 days and then transferred back to Hexham.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my extreme gratitude to the doctors, nursing staff and Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust for having done such an amazing job in saving my life. The doctors showed great skill and dedication at every stage and the nursing staff were excellent.

I have always been generally fit and rarely needed medical care, so it came as a surprise to find what a wonderful support network the NHS was when I did became ill. The follow up care has also been impressive. Thanks for the great job you are all doing.

Dear Peter,

Thank you for taking the time to inform Northumbria Healthcare of the recent care you received. We are very pleased to learn that you had a positive experience and that you found all the staff carried out their work in a caring manner. We will pass on your kind comments to the staff as it’s always encouraging to know their hard work is appreciated. We hope you are on the road to making a full recovery.
