"Excellent experience"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

Was brought in by ambulance to HDU on October 27 with shortness of breath. Pneumonia diagnosed and was admitted. HDU staff were superb, keeping me informed and bringing me cups of tea on occasion. Transferred to Ward 4 (admissions ward) which was hectic with people being moved in and out all times through the day. Noisy at times with some disruptive patients but to be expected. Even though staff were so busy they found time to look after you. Was advised that I would be moving to Ward 1 as the hospital had run out of beds. I advised staff that I couldn't go to to Ward 1 as my mother had died on that ward only three months ago and it had terrible memories. Staff agreed that I could stay on Ward 4. Nothing was too much trouble for them finding time to talk to me and bringing me cups of tea through the night when I couldn't sleep. Was pumped with huge amounts of antibiotics and steroids to clear the pneumonia as I was advised that I was very unwell. Moved to Ward 6 on 30 September for a night and discharged on November 1. I would like to thank all staff especially HCA's, Staff nurses and of course the Consultants from Ward 4 for their kindness. Please pass on my thanks to them.
