"Fantastic care"

About: Kettering General Hospital

Anything else?

Kettering was not my first choice of hospital to give birth at, however having ended up there I was very glad I had done! The staff who looked after me during labour and birth were excellent - they gave us our own space when we needed it but were there when we needed it and did a fantastic job of delivering the baby and listening to and respecting my wishes and helping me to think decisions through. The room with the birthing pool was lovely and clean and it was a very relaxing environment which helped me a lot. I was on the Rowan Ward for several days and I have to say the care I received there was particularly outstanding. The staff were really caring, they helped me out loads, even with small things, they were patient when I had no idea what I was doing and they really went beyond the call of duty. The night staff on several occasions looked after the baby for a while so that I was able to catch some much-needed sleep. Everyone who looked after me was really compassionate and it really set me up and prepared me for being a mum when I got home.
