"Wifes care"

About: Torbay Hospital

Anything else?

My wife was admitted following what I believed to be a stroke. The Paramedics/ambulance crew were very timely and in a word, superb. My wife also had Pneumonia (undiagnosed earlier) and was initially looked after in A& E.This "Holding room" until a ward bed could be found was first class and all that could be wished for. Upon subsequent transfer to George Earl Ward (specialising in stroke victims) she undoubtedly received the ultimate in care and attention. The ward (same sex) was scrupulously clean, all staff attentive, caring and obviously 100% dedicated. The fact that ultimately she succumbed was absolutely no reflection on their skills.I subsequently made a donation to the Ward Trust Fund.

May we firstly offer our condolences on the sad passing of your wife. We were assured, however, to hear about the standard of care she received during her time in A&E and George Earl Ward. Thank you so much for your donation, we are sure it will be very much appreciated and be put to good use. And thank you also for taking the time to provide this feedback, we will share your kind comments with our staff. With best wishes, South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
