Anything else?
After a routine shoulder replacement operation my husband was discharged the following evening without having urinated successfully (a problem which had been reported to the nurses in Pembroke Ward on several occasions). Due to this lack of nursing care my husband was re-admitted the following morning to A & E where he had to be catheterised and there followed weeks of pain, discomfort and hospitalisation and a further operation. My husband was a fit and well 75 year old when he had his elective surgery to his shoulder and due to the lack of proper nursing care he has lost weight and confidence. His surgeon performed an excellent job on his shoulder and was dismayed at the problems that occurred whilst my husband was undter his care. He wrote to the nurse in charge at the time (sent copy to us) but that was 12 August 2013 and still we have not been advised of the outcome. He asked us at my husband's last appointment on 21st Oct 2013 whether we had heard from the management team so he is obviously concerned that Medway Maritime do not seem to care about their patients.
