"canceled total knee replacement"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

Anything else?

I was admitted to day case entrance 9 on 14th Oct for my knee surgery I was given the usual routine checks & questions dressed in the gown leg all marked up canular fitted etc then the doctor came and saw me & said i would be in theater in about 20--30mins the anesthetist then came and went through some more questions 1, why was i on furosimide tablets. Because i had had swollen feet. 2 did i not have a heart scan in pre assessment no she did some coming and going and when i was having my pressure stockings put on came and said the op was canceled. I was devastated she also told me my pre assesment should not have been carried out as they did not have my notes at the time. they tried to get me seen to on that day while i was there but to no avail i was told at 4.00pm i could go home and they would get everything sorted a.s.a.p. It will be 3 weeks on Monday and as of now after numerous phone calls to several departments i am still in limbo not knowing what is happening i have no dates for any appointments i may have to have never mind when my surgery is to be done as this op was canceled through no fault of my own i feel really let down it is taking so long to get things back on track surly a simple phone call to the relevant departments is all it takes to organize an appointment not three weeks,
