"Forgotten and ignored"

Having been admitted to Plymouth Derriford Hospital, I have been forgotten about since being handed over to medical team. A&E Dr didn't want to admit me, despite having a swelling in my head behind my eye. In fact the Dr didn't believe me and chose not to even examine me. After complaining to his line manager I was admitted (still no examination) to MAU. I was seen the following day where Neurology gave me a (very) brief examination, listed me to be moved to neuro-ward (then moved me to ENT) ordered at CT & examined my opthalmology then left and forgotten for 36 hours. Apparently no one answers their bleep/pagers for that length of time and when my nurse had been asked several times over a 6 hour period if she can chase it up, she also chose to ignore/forget me until I put my own shoes on and went looking for Neurologist and to see if I am ever going to be CT'd.

Having now been in the hospital for 2 days and still to be examined, I'm glad that this mysterious swelling behind my eye isn't going to explode, although it is quite worrying that my vision is deteriorating....oh yeah and I still haven't been examined.

So I guess we'll see? ?
