"I have had the misfortune to visit ..."

About: University Hospital Of Hartlepool

(as the patient),

What could be improved

I have had the misfortune to visit two elderly patients on different occasions. I found the nursing staf less than helpfull and generally more interested in chatting amongst themselves rather than attending to the very considerable needs of these elderly patients.Leaving meals for an elderly lady with broken arms and not offering to help feed her, then returning an hour later with the words 'Oh! So you arn't hungery' then removing the food is just unacceptable. Other experiences confirm the extremely low level of patient care given out by Nurses who quite frankly couldn't care less. I have other experiences of this Hospital and I only hope I am never a patient there.

Get these Nurses to do the job they are being paid very well to do, and be work orientated rather than chatting endlessly to their colleagues instead of attending to patient needs.
