Anything else?
My 9 yr old son was referred to here via our dentist because he is very nervous of dentists and needs 2 or 3 teeth taken out. On 25th October we saw a dental student who was nice, friendly and my son was happy. He explained what treatment is required. Then he brought over his teacher / lecturer. She looked into my sons mouth, didn't speak to me or my son and told the student "remove the rubbish with a polish" I felt totally humiliated. She came back later to check again and said to my son "make sure you keep these teeth like this cos I'll check next time you come" my son went to our local dentist regularly, twice a year. He brushes his teeth every morning. We went to the dental hospital for help and guidance not to be spoken to like that. I am angry that I didn't speak up at the time but I was gob smacked!! I've worked in the NHS for 19 years and can't believe a health care professional would speak about and to a child the way she did.
