"the good breast surgeon"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Breast surgery

(as the patient),

When a patient has a mastectomy or lumpectomy with lymph node removal their post op suffering depends on how well the operation was done. The surgeons' skill is what matters most. I have read horror stories of ladies with dreadful pain and limited/painful movement after excisions.

I wish to thank my excellent surgeon Mr Taylor of Stoke Mandeville Hospital for a mastectomy with NO nasty after effects and an equally good lumpectomy on my daughter. Even more valuable to both of us has been his attention to new symptoms and cancer reocurrence. His valuable advice is always available to patients and in our case his care has spread to other daughter and a grand daughter.

As a family we have every possible reason to be grateful to him and to his colleague Mr Patel who performed a big axillary section on self leaving me feeling as if I hadn't had any poking around and snipping out of lymph glands at all.
