"Total Hip Replacement"

About: Cheltenham General Hospital

Anything else?

I entered the hospital September 12 and was discharged September 15 after surgery to implant a new left hip joint. My blood pressure increased as did my anxiety on being wheeled into the pre-op room to receive a lower back pain blocker - I did not feel any level of pain or discomfort with this procedure. I recall experiencing a hazy image of masked faces and a large circular lamp then I was gone to wake up in the recovery ward. Everything about my recovery was excellent, the administration of medication including morphine, my dignity was respected, every personal need was attended within moments. I entered this hospital crippled by hip pain and left completely free of hip pain though there is reducing levels of pain from surgery.
