"Magnificent but dissapointing"

About: Tewkesbury Hospital

Anything else?

After all the planning and the delayed opening, I am very unhappy that no proper signage has yet been erected, no map is available in reception and neither has the website map been updated. I should think that the new MIU entrance off link road has a different postcode from the old hospital entrance. Full marks to the gent on reception who apologised profusely for the lack of a handout sheet

Dear Mike Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback - I'm sorry it's taken so long to reply, NHS Choices has only recently sorted out some technical issues for us to be able to receive comments and respond directly. As you know, the old hospital site is currently under development and so temporary access remains in place to reach the new hospital, which has been up and running since October 2013. We've updated the address (with new postcode) and map both on our website and on this NHS Choices website, and contractors Seddons have improved the signage at the entrance off Barton Road so that directions are more clear for pedestrians and drivers to reach the new hospital's main doors. We will keep updating our website - www.glos-care.nhs.uk - but in the meantime, if there are ways we can improve signage please do get in touch with directly - ruth.darling@glos-care.nhs.uk Best wishes Ruth Darling, communications manager Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust
