"No Improvement"

About: Croydon University Hospital

Anything else?

In January I wrote to state my concerns about the appalling lack of cleanliness in the Fanshaw building in the area used for the waiting space for Renal outpatients.Your reply intimated that with the opening of Purley hospital in the summer we could expect some improvement in conditions, well sad to say things have not got any better. I am sickened every time I go for my appointment (regrettably frequently) I have a right to demand that my dignity is not compromised by having to sit and wait in this filth. As previously mentioned the carpeted area needs immediate attention it is so filthy and unhygienic nothing other than it's removal and replacement will be acceptable, equally the toilet is always unclean and to be avoided if at all possible My patience has now worn thin,I'm not prepared to put up with these conditions any longer and will take strong further action to ensure a major improvement

We fully understand that the place where people receive treatment is an important part of the care you receive and we are sorry to hear about your experience visiting outpatients. The Purley War Memorial Hospital has been refurbished and will are increasing numbers of people there for outpatient clinics. Our estates team are focused on making sure that all of our 18 sites are kept to a good standard and we have passed on your comments to them. Since you have raised this issue previously one of the team would be able to discuss this work in more detail with you. If you would like to speak with them please contact us direct our PALS service on 020 8401 3210 or at talktous@croydonhealth.nhs.uk
