Anything else?
I had a Colposcopy appointment to book (this is an appointment after an abnormal smear). It is an unnerving time so to receive my letter asking me to book my appointment (whereas every other appointment I've had has been detailed in the letter so you only need to ring if it isn't suitable) was rather frustrating. Made a little worse when ringing and being told their clinic was dealing with a backlog and they were full on all booked Colposcopy Clinic dates. Now I understand when places are busy however this is not the patients fault and shouldn't be offloaded onto. I was told I would be called back when they had a date. This is presumably to stop patients ringing them every day, which I can understand in a busy department but it makes you feel a lack of control over the situation. At the time all I wanted was a date booked in so I could try and relax and have one less thing to worry about. I mentioned this to my GP at an appointment I made to discuss the results of the previous Smear and he very kindly took over and booked my appointment (2 days later, got my appointment letter in the post). I had a fantastic doctor and the nurses at the Colposcopy were fantastic - absolutely brilliant. For me the frustration and dissatisfaction was the arranging of it all. I also attend Physio there and have to say they run a fantastic department. Reception are always helpful, nothing is ever too much to do and the Physios themselves are extremely patient and caring.
