"A&E, Childrens Unit"

Attended A&E with my 11 year old son as he had been hit with a golf club in the eye socket.

Seen within 10 minutes in A&E by staff nurse. XRay within 45 minutes and reviewed within 2 hours. There was a small misunderstanding of what department was going to treat my son (Maxfax/plastics) which led to a delay of 4 1/2 hours from admittance. I was not bothered about this as I knew my son had been seen by a doctor.

Maxfax provided care to my son and the team were fantasic. We were transferred to the childrens ward and the Dr came to see us before his shift had finished and then again the next morning as soon as his shift had begun. The Dr had arranged appointments within the orthoptic department with a number of different specialists to ensure his eyesight was not affected due to the fracture.

My son had to go to theatre to repair the wound he had, and they were also brilliant.

The aftercare was also very good. We had been provded with appointments for the next 3 weeks and despite a small wait at each one, the care was fantastic.

I forget the Dr from Maxfax's name but thank you to you and your team, you did a brilliant job, keep it up.
