"Sedation for endoscopy "

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I went in to have a sigmoidoscopy and was told by the nurse that no sedation was usually given.

When I had it the pain was barely tolerable and I cried the whole way through it.

I read my notes that said I'd had mild discomfort which wasn't true. Its taken me three days off work to recover.
