just had an appointment cancelled on the day after we waited for 5 month to see a doctor for my grand daughter, 2 people took time off work, paid parking fees to be told the doctor was on jury service. why no letter? is jury service without prior warning now, when we asked to rebook the appointment it was in 6 months time, we complained about this and rang up countless times to speak to someone when we finally got though we was told someone would ring us back, 2 days later no has yet, we are talking about a 7 year olds eyesight here for goodness sake, then again this is the same NHS that put a pot on her right leg when she broke her left

We are very sorry to receive your comments via the Patient Opinion website on 24th October 2013 with respect to your cancelled appointment. We have reviewed the circumstances surrounding your issues and can report that a letter was sent to the parents/guardian of the patient on the 19th September 2013 cancelling the appointment of 24th October 2013 (due to the doctor being called to jury service), and offering a new appointment on the following week, 30th October 2013. We understand this was cancelled by yourselves as it was half term, and unfortunately, the next available slot we have for this clinic would be in April 2014.

The staff are looking at the possibility of looking for an earlier appointment slot for you, if at all possible.

We are also sorry you experienced a delay in our responding to your telephone call and have since reminded all staff about the importance of remembering to pass on messages and returning calls.
