Anything else?
Today my husband was seen by a urology consultant. He was seen on time, but that was the only positive thing that can be said about the visit. The urologiest seemed confused. He asked my husband if he had a cystoscopy, if he was taking a specific drug, and whether he had an MRI and when. This despite the fact that he had my husband's file in front of him, or at least we think it was his file. He referred to treatments and medication that had nothing to do with my husband. My husband never had a cystoscopy, we did not know what drug the doctor was talking about and my husband certainly wasn't taking it. My husband fortunately brought his own file with all his lab tests going back a year and a half ago. He had to provide his bloodtest results for the consultant. If anyone doubts this story, ask the nurse and medical student who sat through this farce with us. I am certain they were less than impressed with this gentle men's performance, as we were. Perhaps someone can explain why my husband's file was not reviewed BEFORE he went in to see the consultant. Perhaps he may have had a better grasp of his patient's history. We wil NOT be going back to see this doctor, he is either inept or I would say confused. Either way it is not someone we want directing our healthcare especially as it is cancer related.
