My mother was recently admitted to Good Hope Hospital following a heart attack and pneumonia.
Initially mum spent some time in ITU and then was transferred to Ward 23 Cardiology.
Mum spent three and a half months in hospital and had a difficult and long recovery/diagnosis which included; liver and kidney failure, chest infection and later sepsis.
The staff (Consultants, Doctors, Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Physiotherapists, OT's, Catering and Cleaners) were ALL extremely professional and caring to both my mother and our family. Without them my mum would not be here today and we would not have coped so well in what was an extremely stressful and challenging time.
We feel it is important to acknowledge good practise as the media frequently highlights what is wrong with the NHS and forgets to praise the good.
Thank you.
