About: Dewsbury & District Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as the patient),

I just to tell you something positive instead of all the negative stories you hear.

I was referred for a x-ray by my doctor. I planned it to take all morning e. g. waiting longer than my appointment time, been able to park and wondering if my car park ticket would run out before I'd finish. I went a bit earlier so I could find somewhere to park as I know it gets busy.

Once I got to the x-ray department early, I checked in and told to take a seat, so I got my book out preparing myself for a long wait, within two minutes my name was called, by a genuine lovely friendly nurse. I was taken to the next waiting area there again thought I would have to wait but no I was called straight away. The radiographer was very friendly and explained every thing in a caring way. After the my x-ray was completed I waited a few minutes and then was told I could go, no waiting again outside.

I am writing to you as I don't like going to hospitals as I haven't had to go many times in my 64 years of life. This visit was made so easy and relaxed as it's the long waiting time I don't like.

I would like to say thank you to all staff in the department for making my visit easy. And I got out to my car with time to spare.
