"I’m sure the ambulance crew saved my son's life"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a parent/guardian),

I called for an ambulance when my 44 year old son had a heart attack. I called 999, within 3 or 4 minutes the ambulance was here even though we are in a rural area on a farm.

The crew were fantastic, without their quick response and treatment, getting my son to Taunton hospital in half an hour things could have turned out very badly. I’m sure they saved his life.

I was in the health service for 33 years as a nursing sister and understand the pressure under which they work. I feel one needs to give praise where it is due.

My son is now recovering and working on the farm as much as he can.

Dear Eaten322

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I am so glad to hear that your son is recovering so well.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide the very best care to our patients when they need us most.

I would very much like to pass your thanks to the invidulal members of staff who attended to your son. In order to do this I would require a little more information from you. Could you please call me on 01392 453831, or email laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk, at your convenience?

Thank you again.
