"The matron that visits me is very good"

About: Mansfield & Ashfield / Community nursing, Ashfield

(as the patient),

Just over two years ago I was discharge from hospital after being for over a week with my COPD.

I was referred to the matron in the community service and since then I have had monthly visits and more if I need them from my local matron in the community. In that time she has managed to help me control my condition and reduce the number of times that I need to go to A&E because of suffering from exacerbations.

The matron that visits me is very good and listens to what I have to say and gives me the back up that I need and she is only a phone call away.

Many Thanks for telling your story on Patient Opinion, it is much appreciated that there is recognition for the differrences that Matron's input gives to Patient experience, and that your admissions have decreased as a result. Thankyou for the feedback.
