"Patient files are piled up in the reception area"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I have been going to the eye clinic for quite some time. The staff are always excellent.

The visit has usually taken about two hours but on the last two times I’ve been in and out in half an hour.

The only thing that strikes me about the clinic is that patient files are piled up in the reception area, the doctors need to keep walking up and down the corridor to get the files. Could there be another way of getting the patient files to the doctors?

Dear Jog595

Many thanks for sharing your thoughts about your recent visit to the clinic at University Hospital, Ayr. I have passed them to our Head of Health Records and the managers for this clinic so that they can provide a response. I think that they have a reason for this that might not be immediately apparent - but we shall see what they say in the response, and I will be interested to get your feedback on this.

Best wishes

Craig White

Assistant Director
