"My stapedectomy operation on the 21st of October,..."

About: Addenbrooke's Hospital

Anything else?

I arrived at the hospital feeling quite anxious about my operation: a stapedectomy....which is potentially life changing but not without some risk. I was immediately put at my ease by all of the nurses and the other members of the team on ward J3, which helped to allay my fears. I was still a little bit anxious, when I arrived in the pre operative room, prior to actual operation. I was once again, fully reassured by the anaesthetist and the other members of the operating team, including of course, my consultant. The next thing I was aware of, was awakening in the recovery room, where once again, the professionalism of my care was beyond reproach. My operation went well and of courses, there will be follow up care to come. Back on ward J3, my post operative care was once again absolutely brilliant and I was discharged a few hours after my operation. For me, I cannot speak highly enough of the dedication and kindness that I was shown during my very brief stay on ward J3. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my full appreciation to all of the staff on ward J3.
