"Excellency at Homerton Hospital"

About: Homerton University Hospital

Anything else?

Yesterday I had my first experience within a surgery at Homerton Hospital and also in my entire life, at 36 years old. The operation apparently involved no major risk, I had my haemorrhoids operated. And Given the way I have been treated, I feel I have to obligation to highlight the excellency with which I have been treated at all times, even at the time of booking a cab to take me home in no time. As firstly arrived, 7 am in the morning 21-10-2013 the nurses were incredibly sensible and polite. They explained all about check out, medication and surgery in genera; easing my anxiety and concerned worries. The places looked really clean, quiet and private. Then the anaesthetic doctor introduced herself and explained carefully the procedures. 10 minutes later I spoke with the surgeon and the consultant, they showed themselves very concise, confident and professional, which made me reconfirm my surgical option. In no time I was already in the anaesthetic room, everyone from before and after them were incredibly friendly, always providing the most detailed information and making sure of all safety measures. I obviously could not remember anything till I was back where it all started, in the surgery clinic. Then the nurses looked after me in the most sensible and helpful way. They were remarkably professional and made sure I went home with all the necessary information, medication and confidence. I am glad and honoured to live in a country where such service is provided indiscriminately to members of the society. In my country it would have costed a lot of money for this procedure and I am not even sure whether the standards would have been the same. Thanks a lot!
