I apologise on behalf of the Trust for your recent poor experience of our services when an inpatient for surgery. You have made reference to both poor patient contact by the nursing / health care support staff on a ward and also to the communication from the medical team. I would like to refer your comments to the relevant ward manager and to the medical lead for your surgery. As your feedback is annonymous I will be unable to get a more personal response for you unless you provide the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) with your name, hospital number and contact details. Our contact address is bcfpals@nhs.net. As an organisation we are committed from learning from specific issues and from any mistakes we may have made. Hearing about where we can do better helps us to pinpoint where exactly to make improvements to the service we provide. I do hope that you will make contact.
