What I liked
The A and E staff were exceptional, they all worked very well as a team and they made me feel more comfortable despite the considerable amount of pain.
What could be improved
When I got to the ward I was made to wait 2 days for 'emergency surgery'. I was nil by mouth for both days, being given 2 pieces of toast at 9pm when it became clear that I was not going to be operated on that day. My radio/phone appliance was broken and I had one arm in a sling and the other attached to a drip so I couldn't read anything. I was only allowed visitors between 6:30pm and 7:30pm so there was absolutely nothing to take my mind off the pain. On the morning of the second day a change of bedding was left on the foot of my bed but it remained there until the following day when my sheets were changed. My drip ran out and nobody noticed until my blood started filling the bag!
