"My Mum's attendance at A&E "

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a carer),

My 85 year old Mum with advanced dementia was taken by ambulance from her care home with a suspected TIA.

She was treated quickly, compassionately and effectively by staff who were sensitive to her condition and my anxiety about her being in hospital at all. Investigations were timely and kept to a minimum and I felt fully informed and involved in the decision to discharge her back to the care home.

I have used this service in the past with other family members and am delighted to see it has been transformed.

Dear Jools64

Thank you for your kind comments about the A&E department at East Surrey Hospital. As you say we have transformed the department in the last couple of years and we have now have an excellent facility in which our staff can provide the level of service that you experienced.

Kind regards
