My choice was to opt for my procedure at MKFT Hospital. My GP referral put me in contact with the Urology Dept and Consultant. All the way through my journey I felt that the dialogue was two way and advisory. The treatment and time plan were agreed and met. The whole process from there on was smooth - pre assessment led to admission. On the day meetings with the Anaesthetist and Surgeon were followed immediately by my TURP procedure. Not known to me at the time TURP Syndrome developed - the skilful treatment given by the Consultant's team corrected the situation and that a successful procedure had been concluded. I was discharged on the 3rd day, all as the advised probability. The Ambulatory Care Unit lived up to expectation in all areas of cleanliness, hygiene, catering and the all import standard of care. Teamwork in all directions seemed to be the order of the day, where staff colleagues combined together to ensure patient care was achieved. The discharge process went smoothly - and it was good to be going home feeling confident, and understandably a little poorly, but without major worries or concerns. Six days into the process I am convalescing well and not needing to make contact with the hospital other than to offer my thanks for the combined contribution.
