Anything else?
I attended the Day Surgery Unit for removal of my gallbladder. Appointment was 12;30 operation 13;30. While waiting I had my blood pressure taken it went up in my right arm to 170. The nurse then took it in my left arm and it was 124. According to her left arm was more accurate and it "was good". A difference of nearly 50 between 2 arms is not good. After surgery nurse started taking my blood pressure again. It went to 155. My blood pressure was not taken again. considering I take Perindopril, aspirin and statin daily, had an MI in 1992, all on my record. I found it disconcerting that more interest in blood pressure readings At 18;00 as I was not in any pain, could with difficulty pass urine . (have you passed urine was it 100ml? asked the nurse) how I could guess whether it was 100ml or nor I do not know. The fact I had difficulty was of no concern, yes it does happen, it is normal said the nurse. The attitude seemed to be; "it is 18;00 it is closing time" .like a supermarket. And I was discharged At 0200 I had to call a doctor and he had to fit a catheter. I have no complaint against the doctors However, nurses. At one time with nurses you had dedication and compassion. Now you have university degrees and arrogance
