Anything else?
After a visit to the Opticians in early August the GP referred me for a choose and book appointment for cataracts and to Retinal Screening for Diabetes. I asked what was the soonest appoinment and was told DMH. The appoinments was in 3 weeks time. A couple of days before the appoinment I received a letter cancelling it. I rang and was told I was being referred to a more appropriate consultant and I would receive an appointment by the end of October. I visited the doctors and tried to arrange to go eslewhere but it turned out to be more difficult then you might imagine. At the end of September I rang DMH and was told I would receive an appointment within a week but if I didn't to ring back. True to form there was no appointment. I rang back and was told that someone had written to both myself and my GP on the 4th September suggesting this was better dealt with a Piper House. I said I had not received any letter and have since checked with my GP who has receive no letter either. The lady on the phone had difficulty understanding how what she was telling me conflicted with what I had been told a week earlier. I went for my retinal screening but they were unable to see anything because of the cataracts. When I explained the situation she suggested she referred people to DMH not the other way around. I wrote a letter to DMH asking what is going on but have had no reply. Nine weeks down the line there is no sign of an appointment and I am going to have to book an appointment with my GP, who I am sure has better things to do, to sort this out. Avoid DMH they simply waste your time.
