Yesterday I had an appointment at the day care centre at QEH for a bronchoscopy. Prior to visiting the hospital I was sent a pamphlet describing what the bronchosopy test involved. The pamphlet was very informative, written in plain English and clearly described what the test involved. On visiting the day centre, I was very quickly booked in and dealt with by very professional, compassionate and caring nurses, who, in my mind, clearly took their work seriously, but still had a sense of humour. I noticed that they treated all their patients with a great deal of respect. The waiting areas and the operating room was spotless. The doctors described to me in detail, what the bronchoscopy test involved and again they were very professional, functional and caring. I could not fault the immediate aftercare following the test and they made sure that I had a relative on hand before being released from their care. The cup of tea that I was given while waiting to be discharged, tasted like nectar, as I had nothing to eat or drink sometime before visiting the centre. Thank you to all all the staff involved and well done.
