"visit to phlebotomy department at erith hospital"

About: Erith & District Hospital

Anything else?

Having arrived at 10.30am for blood tests my ticket was 151. Phlebotomist came and asked that numbers ceased when they reached 170. By 11am this quota reached and people were being sent away and asked to return another day. It was very distressing seeing elderly and invalid people being sent away. Some were quite angry and in my opinion, justifiably so. If the staff had been working any slower they would have been going backwards, just calling one number at a time - but when its 12 noon suddenly numbers start being called in 3s. This is a very busy and important department - if the opening times state 8am - 12.30pm then those times should be adhered to. So if you want to be seen, make sure you arrive before 10.30 to be on the safe side.
