Mum needs a hip replacement. She was told that Macclesfield had the shortest list. So she waited. For weeks, and weeks, eventually she got her date, Friday13th sept 2013. She was admitted. Then during the 1st hour of being there, the surgeon visited. And with a big smile, he cancelled her surgery. 2 hours later mum was discharged. The excuse for cancellation, was that he needed more medical info from Stoke. He had weeks to get this, but chose that moment to need them. He wrote on her discharge it was urinary infection as the excuse, and wrote to mums GP saying mum refused the surgery. 3 different excuses. I write this review now because mum is in stoke hospital, after falling due to increasing pain in her hip. She now has a broken pelvis, is still not on any waiting list again for hip surgery and now probably wont be for months to come. We cant get honesty from Macclesfield, they keep asking for letters from mums GP, so far the GP has written 3 times to say give mum the surgery, but now, at 82 in a week, mum is very unlikely to get her hip replaced in the near future with a broken pelvis. All because she chose Macclesfield with the shortest waiting list. This is disgusting service.
