"Clinical waste"

About: Heartlands Hospital

Anything else?

Ward 30. Not impressed at their procedures regarding clinical waste. Seriously gloves and used plastic syringes in bins in patients rooms that are marked for general waste and have black bin bags in not orange bags. This is not good enough. If we did this where I work we would be in serious trouble especially if cqc were to find out. If hospitals can't get basics right then there is no wonder things like mrsa are on the increase

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us and sorry to hear of the problems you encountered. I will ensure your comments are shared with the staff on the ward as all staff should be aware of the correct disposal of waste. Regards Catherine Williams Patient Engagement Department
