"day surgery and 9west"

My mother has recently had gallblader removal. Arrived at day surgery at 6.30 went to theatre 2pm. As a concerned son, I waited in day surgery unit. Waited 6 hrs was told still in surgery. Very upset at lack of communication. Mum was in recovery at 5pm. Received great care on 9 west although food appalling. I think the day surgery unit need to appreciate that relatives need to be kept informed of the whereabouts and progress of thier families at a very scary time.
