"The fantastic staff of the Ashley Centre"

I am posting this on behalf of the service user from Bonnard Ward who shared it with us in writing:

I am writing to congratulate the staff of the 'Ashley Centre', and to formally thank them through their managers.

To me it's a welcome respite due to the informal events and activities they offer and facilitate.

Tonight, I attended an excellent performance of music and song by two other patients.

The lay out of the chairs and lighting was truly welcoming and comfortable.

Due to the fabric of Ashley Centre, the acoustics are amazing and a delight to hear.

Please would you thank all the Ashley Centre staff formally and tell them how much I appreciate their dedication and hard work.

This is a really positive feedback and extremely welcomed. We thanked the patient for taking his time to write his opinions regarding our service. Ashby day centre is relatively new to the mental health service and has been opened for just a few months. The aim of the day centre is to provide all therapy sessions in specific rooms that provide the patients with an area that is comfortable and appropriate for therapy. Ashby also provides recreational activities for patients that include exercise sessions, games, crafts and an area for patients to meet and just watch television, listen to music or chat among themselves. Each month the patient’s forum is held in Ashby and on the agenda is the planned timetable for Ashby. We welcome patient’s opinions on how the service can be improved and their ideas of what they would like Ashby to provide. We aim to continue with the theme of patients using the area for their own needs and hope we can continue to ensure patients enjoy the new centre.
