I attended the day care unit female on Monday for a gyne op. I was seen by a consultant who has a terrific bedside manner. Even popping his head around afterwards to check I was Ok , after his doctor had visited. The team, from the pre o a few days before , to the moment i left, were every one pleasant and interested in me as a patient. They were cheerful and answered all of our silly questions with seriousness. A hospital is a hospital. But the staff at this hospital are outstanding. I can honestly say of the 20 or so people I saw throughout the day, everyone seemed smart and caring. Even when my husband waited, there was a cup of tea for him and a biscuit. When I rang this morning to double check something, they knew who I was, and rang back immediately. And this is a busy ward. If ever there are concerns about the NHS this ward should be looked at in terms of a team who are ' on it'. I have always feared hospitals but no longer. Thanks to all... Keep up the great work.
