About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency East Surrey Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I had an accident six weeks ago, falling and breaking my left hip.

I received excellent care from the ambulance crew, A&E and the nursing and support staff. I was really impressed with the high standard of care and support. The hospital ward was clean and the food wasn't bad either.

A follow-up appointment at the trauma and orthopaedic outpatients department today continued the positive experience.

The only negative that I could comment on was that it was at times difficult sharing a ward with elderly dementia patients. It was very demanding for the staff (they showed great compassion) but distressing at times.
