Anything else?
Having had my knees replaced in 2003, first hip replaced at Pinehill in September 2012, I chose to have my second hip replacement at Pinehill in June 2013. The pre operative assessment session is very informative and an enjoyable experience. The admission process was straightforward with nursing staff putting your nerves to rest. This time I had a room to myself, previously a shared room. Although it was only a short stay I seemed to be very busy with physios, who encouraged me to walk, nursing staff popping in and out for vital checks and the occasional visitor. Post operatively I attended three times to see the physiotherapist, before attending the weekly hour long group session for hip and knee replacement patients. The excellent care and encouragement given by the Physio team has been invaluable. What a great asset they are to the hospital. I only have two criticisms of Pinehill. During its refurbishment, the waiting room was fitted out with "posh"furniture. However, the chairs are too low for hip and knee replacement patients. Higher chairs should be provided. The other criticism is that the large Physio room is a little on the small side. In a group session there is hardly enough room to swing a cat around. I wonder why during refurbishment of this great hospital the Physio department was not given more room. There is plenty of space under the canopy outside the large Physio room to push the department outwards. Perhaps management might consider my points. Otherwise, all in all a good experience. Many thanks
