About: Hull Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

my 85 year old mother was admitted in to the hull royal infirmary on the 5th October 2013 for a period of 5 days until the 10th of October 2013. with what apparently was a water infection, in her time of stay they checked bloods, water and did a ct scan of which came back that she had a water infection and the scan was clear. After 5 days she was given the antibiotics to finish off at home with paracetamol and codine and phosphate for the pain. After two days and finishing the course of antibiotics, the infection returned.i was then forced to call out the emergency doctor who on examining my mother and asking her to do a urine sample, tested it and diagnosed that the infection was still there. He told me he wanted me to contact the gp on Monday 14th October and ask the gp to contact the micro biologist at hri and ask for a urine culture report as his diagnosis was that it was something to do with my mothers ficus going into her urine. my complaint is that they should of done a colposcopy or she should of at least been seen by a gynoecoligist in the hospital to diagnose the exact medical condition my mother had before she was given the wrong medication for her condition after being discharged it reacurred which resulted in me having to call out yet another emergency doctor.
