"My son you is just 13 days old ..."

About: Salford Royal

(as a relative),

What I liked

My son you is just 13 days old is in neonatal at present and the staff in there are fantastic they are looking after my little boy so well i can go home knowing he is in safe hands,When i went in to labour on the 6th october i had a cesarean section as i was having twins the staff looked after me and i was scared but they made me feel better and once my little boys were born and on M3 ward they staff were fantastic on there and were very helpfull, when one of my sons had to go up to special care it was upsetting but ther resured me.The hole of the maternity and special care are fantastic.I have also in the past been in hope hostpital for other reasons and were great aswell.

What could be improved

The only problem i have with the place is the parking,it is upsetting enough having to visit my son in special care and having to leave him every day and night, i visit him twice day and as i had a cesarean i unable to walk from the new car park on stott lane to maternity twice a day so my partner drives to drop me at the car park at the back of matenity as we also have my other son with us i have to wait for my partner to come back from the car park on stott lane to carry my son in his car seat as i am unable to carry him as im unable to carry heavy things by the time my partner comes back and walked right through the hostpital we have been waiting 15 minuites which is a long time with a newborn we are stressed before we even get to special care something should be done about this,i understand this car park at the back of maternity is for staff only but it should also be made for parents visiting in special care or maternity even it it means paying or be given a permit i am not sure how long my son will be in special care for, so each time we visit it upsetting for us all with the added pressure of the problem with parking.I hope to hear from someone with some possible help.?

Thank you for raising this point with us.

We have recently transferred our main patient/visitor car park to Stott Lane, which is as a result of the redevelopment of the hospital site. The changeover has caused some concerns to patients and visitors and we are currently reviewing our arrangements.

The option to create some visitor parking on site for those attending the Maternity Unit and the Ladywell Building is being considered.
