I was operated on the 10th October 2013. From the moment care commenced, I was treated by all staff in a supportive and friendly manner. I was kept fully informed about all aspects of the procedure, both in preparation for and during it. A succession of nurses advised , treated and monitored me in a thoroughly professional manner. While all staff, without exception, are to be thanked. Nurses were exceptional in operation prep and in the theatre and made me feel valued and reassured. My greatest praise is undoubtably for my consultant who conducted the procedure and managed all aspects of it. Together with his lady colleague, I was treated in a manner that gave me the greatest confidence in their ability and left me hugely impressed. During the procedure, I was quite shocked to discover that my right artery was completely blocked and my left artery was partially blocked requiring an angioplasty there also! The skills evident to determine the best course of action, to open up the arteries and insert Stents on both sides, could only be admired. While I thanked him at the time, I would be most pleased if he could receive a copy of this review. I would also like special thanks to be extended to all other key staff in the theatre. As a final comment, I would also like to make mention of the ancillary staff that frequented my room while waiting for discharge. As a senior manager insisting on high standards of hygiene in food processing, I was impressed by the obviously well trained staff who performed their roles efficiently and courteously.
