"musculoskeletal clinic"

About: Eccleshill Community Hospital

Anything else?

I was seen by musculoskeletal clinic after years of suffering with knee joint pain. it took 2 years to get the referral and the doctor I saw took xray of hands and feet, I was then told that the pains were normal. The doctor wrote to my GP saying no other action necessary, 2 years later I dislocated my knee to find out I had petelofemoral dysplasia in both knees, servere damage to soft tissue my cartlidge in both knees is worn down to the bone ( caused by years of wear) ,,the specialist I saw has wrote in a letter saying I was not happy he couldn't find anything wrong, and said my pain was psycological, now 4 years later I cannot work and am awaiting a trochlearplasty surgery, I feel this should of been spotted by the doctor I saw, if he had done a scan of my knee this would of been resolved,

We are so sorry that you have had such pain for so long and not received the care you required. Whilst it will not change the struggle you have had for the past few years, it may give you some comfort if you contacted the Patient Advisory Liaision service (PALS) on 01274-364021. They will be able to look into your concerns and help you with a way forward.
